    Boston merchant John Rowe's diary for 5-6 March 1770 includes a brief descripton of the Boston Massacre including commentary about the character of Captain Thomas Preston and a description of resulting anger among Boston's citizens. Rowe's entry of the following day includes a brief description of a town meeting and the subsequent request of citizens that Hutchinson order the British troops be removed from Boston.
